SMART FIRE TERMINATOR
AS it is very well said, it was worth the wait guys... AND HERE WE GO!!! The much awaited full featured explaination video of the SMART FIRE TERMINATOR is up. CLICK HERE to know about the system and please comment down below your views about it.
A little know-how about the idea goes like this...
In
today’s life, the infrastructures and skyscrapers are rapidly growing aspects
of modern society. The abundant use of high power components in buildings is an
essential requirement nevertheless the compromise on various hazards is
experimented. Since this practice is not supposed to be exercised, but looking
onto the terrific advantages of certain fire ‘prone’, but highly applicable and
feasible smart home systems or smart versions of power appliances used at, say
ones home, school, society, more crucially hospitals, etc., the slight over the
top sight onto the threats is overlooked.
Thus, a smart fire
system is a crucial requirement not only at a place of confidential or
important data centers, but also at our simplest of homes, which will make the most of its smart
threat handling capability and stay up to the mark. The myth of restricting
digital devices or high power devices at homes is nearly a thing of mere past.
In such circumstances, the cure for the itch has to be installed taking into
account the hazard that it has.
Such ‘in four wall’ systems
definitely need a ‘SmartFire Terminator’. As we all know the circuits can heat
up, and even when their application is to be enjoyed in tropical regions, they
are surely more prone to get heated. This may cause to a serious calamity like
catching of fire. Thus, to tackle such situations, a serious need of an
automatic extinguisher is raised as a matter of fact. It may happen that at
certain circumstances, the victim is not able to move himself/herself upto the
fire extinguisher and blow out the fire because of fire itself blocking that
area. It has more probability that fire will be spreading as fast as whopping 6
to 7 miles per hour (in regular Indian infrastructure and not forest). Thus
adding to the above probability, that a man will not be reaching to the
extinguishing unit unless he makes haste.
A fire can happen
at any time at any place irrespective of its occupancy status. You can expect a
fire at any structure, may be at your home or at your workplace or in a
hospital or in public places like theatres, malls, etc… Fire in any occupancy
has the potential to cause harm to its occupants and severe damage to property.
On an average, in
India, every year, about 25,000 persons die due to fires and related causes.
Female accounts for about 66% of those killed in fire accidents. It is
estimated that about 42 females and 21 males die every day in India due to
fire. According to the statistics released by the National Crime Records
Bureau, fire accounts for about 5.9% (23,281) of the total deaths reported due
to natural and un-natural causes during the year 2012.
No comprehensive
data is available in India on the economic losses suffered on account of fires.
However, according to one estimate the major losses reported by the Indian
Insurance Companies in the year 2007-2008 indicate, that about 45% of the
claims are due to fire losses. According to another estimate about Rs. 1000
crores are lost every year due to fire. Fire losses are reported both in
industrial and non-industrial premises like hospitals, commercial complexes,
educational institutions, assembly halls, hotels, residential buildings, etc
The above survey
also revealed that in industry wise risk ranking, fire take 2nd place in
hospitality, 4th place in IT/ITES, Manufacturing, Security Service Providers
and 6th place in infrastructure. As far as the leading cause for the fire is
concerned, according to the survey, the electric defaults are regarded as the
major cause of fires. In Mumbai about 75% of fire-related incidents occur
because of short circuit caused by loose wiring.
The survey also point
out that during the period 2009-2012, Mumbai fire department had attended 13,185
incidents of fire out of which 9711 were caused due to defective electric
circuit. The scenarios for other major cities are also not different.
The
idea that, a fire sensing unit will be placed at consumer required intervals
which will be linked to a reservoir unit. As the fire is alarmed, the control
signal to the controlling unit will be provided which will be having a
sprinkler governed by a motor, a pump to suck the fluid from the reservoir, and
a loud alarm that will convey an IMMEDIATE EVACUATION trigger to all the
victims to ensure minimum casualties.
The sensitivity of the temperature
or gas sensor will be kept as such that it will be able to interpret the rise
in temperature as a fire, causing the control action to buckle up. Now, the
sensitivity is not kept too low, because doing so will result to a reverse
action that the sensor will wait for its threshold temperature at which it will
trigger the action, and if that temperature is set too high, the sensor itself
may get burnt shutting down the whole system and the application will backfire.
To cater this again the sensors sensitivity is selected as per the temperate,
moderate or high temperature regions and also depending upon the seasons
whether it is hot or cold. Moreover, a safeguarding to the sensor and circuitry
is provided to ensure safe operation of the system itself. As soon as the
sensor is triggered, the post action will be quick to extinguish the fire as fast
as possible. The thrust will also be taken into account, which will be forceful
enough to diminish the average intense fire.
On
the grounds of IOT, further advancements may also be undertaken as follows. The
unit will also be having a GSM and GPS module. The GPS module will track the
location i.e. attributes of the particular room or block and send it as a
message to the required phone numbers. The GPS data is recorded and to be
inserted into a message which is prewritten in a code which will also have the
specific SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULE number, whichever we will desire, a fire
brigade, police, ambulance, relatives of the building natives or visitors may
be logged from the watchman/reception entry book, and inserted into the numbers
to whom the message is to be sent. As the sensor is triggered, the SMS
operation will be accomplished and not at the extinguishing instant. As the SmartFire
terminator is doing its job, the reinforcements will be reaching the disaster
area soon eventually because of the SmarTELEFORMER system. Moreover, even if
the SmartFire Terminator is working, a manual control is to be added
with the auto control by the virtue of which the control action will eventually
be executed nonetheless. As the manual switch is triggered by victim, it will
be same operable as the sensor control, i.e., the sprinkler action will be
exercised.
